Lent at Incarnation

A 40-Day Journey

“Lent” describes a special 40-day period prior to the celebration of Easter Sunday. During this time, followers of Jesus are invited to observe a special time marked “by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word.” These 40 days invite us to come to the end of ourselves, and in doing so, we find ourselves prepared to receive the endless gifts of Christ as we journey through Holy Week and into Easter.

Focused on Prayer

Join us this Lent as we seek to deepen our walk with Jesus by learning about and practicing prayer together. There are a variety of ways you can join us in prayer during this season, including...

More Lenten Resources

Book of Common Prayer 101
If you were not able to make it to the Book of Common Prayer 101 training a few Sundays ago, you can follow this link to a recording of that training. You can find the handout that accompanies the training here as well.
Lent Playlist
Follow this link to a Spotify playlist full of songs that are fitting for the season. Some of these songs will be sung during our worship services so this can be a great way to get familiar with some music that we don't sing as often together.
The Good of Giving Up: Discovering the Freedom of Lent
If you are interested in learning more about Lent and how to participate, we strongly recommend the book, The Good of Giving Up: Discovering the Freedom of Lent, by Father Aaron Damiani of Immanuel Anglican Church in Chicago, our sister church. It is a great introduction to the season, whether you grew up practicing Lent or it's something totally unfamiliar.
